"Songbird"
Inspired by the Barbra Streisand recording of the same name, "Songbird" is a romantic dramedy laced with music, laughter, and tears. A lounge singer in Reno, Nevada meets a successful but burnt-out actor come to town, and the two pull each other back from the ends of their respective ropes while falling in love in the process. The title song is a composite of the story's ruminations on ambition, fame, and the need for all of us to connect. In pre-production.
"Normal Society"
An irreverent comedy satire, "Normal Society" takes a jab at conformity, and man's suspicion of anyone who differs from it.  A frustrated misfit living alone in New York City decides to "fit-in" with mainstream society.  This sets off a powder keg of misadventures, including a crazy night at a Gotham nightclub, a wild party at a high-end mansion, and a riotous chase through the streets of New York. Through it all, our hero meets a colorful woman who likes him for simply himself.  In development.
"Casino Kill"
"Casino Kill" is a contemporary thriller set against the high glamour, high-risk world of professional gaming in Las Vegas.  This story promises to take full advantage of its sexy, singular setting, while at the same time spinning an ever-tightening knot of angst and suspense as a couple of seasoned hustlers, each one the other's nemesis, go at it to the death on the casino playing floors in Sin City.  Screenplay in progress. Milieu Films
Milieu Films is a new motion picture production company based in Las Vegas, NV USA. The banner has been founded by screenwriter-filmmaker Michael Vernon. Michael has several years experience as a produced, optioned, and commissioned screenwriter, has directed short films, and has established a reputation as a master storyteller dedicated to craft and quality.
Working with Hollywood's Blue Iguana Films and Silver Screen Productions, Michael gained valuable experience in independent production. Milieu Films recently produced the acclaimed short film "Crazy Lucky," now streaming at Amazon Prime, and will be expanding into episodic production with the series "The Gilded Boy."
Michael is bringing together the top talents and craftspeople in front of and behind the camera to create leading edge, financially viable motion pictures. Milieu Films has its "eye on the prize" for filmmakers, audiences, and investors alike.
